Training Details:

Our client was an international law firm which was running a complex commercial litigation in Sydney.  The trial was fast approaching and witness familiarisation was needed for various lay witnesses, and an expert witness.  The training sessions were done about 4 weeks out from trial, just before the legal team itself started preparing the witnesses on their evidence.

The sessions were run in person in Sydney at the firm’s local office.

The sessions were very helpful for all witnesses, none of whom had given evidence previously.  The sessions went some considerable way to ensuring that the witnesses focussed on the issues and preparation at hand, and enabled the legal team to focus in greater detail on the witness’ own evidence as part of their preparation.

The expert witness in particular benefited from this training.  Despite being an expert in his field, and having some experience in drafting expert reports, he had yet to be cross examined on a report.  The training went some way to alleviating these nerves and improving the expert’s confidence and delivery of his own evidence from the witness box.
