Expert Witness Report Writing and Cross Examination for Building Inspectors – Helping the Development of an Expert Witness Practice
Our clients were two principals from a building inspection company. They had been doing building work and inspections for clients 30 years and had developed a very busy practice and a regular and loyal client base.
As part of their practice our clients would regularly receive requests to do reports as expert witnesses and act for their clients as experts. This work had previously been turned down due to a lack of knowledge of the expert witness process, and a degree of uncertainty (and fear) of the court process.
After repeated requests from their clients, our clients approached us in order to understand the expert process and role a bit further, with a view to potentially moving into the expert witness field and helping their clients further.
Our clients undertook Loquitur’s online expert witness report writing and cross examination courses. With the knowledge learnt they were able to increase their offering to existing clients, and have now developed a burgeoning expert witness practice and income stream, in addition to their general inspections.
Yes, the on line course was brilliant. I actually think I'll be watching modules 1-4 a few more times.
